Overview
This short safari stay is built around one thing: giving you three real chances to see a wild Bengal tiger. You arrive at Sawai Madhopur (by train from Delhi or Jaipur, or with our car), check in near the park and head straight out on your first afternoon safari.
On day two you do a morning and an afternoon safari. We apply for a different zone each time, so you explore more of the forest — lakes, old ruins and dry deciduous jungle — with an experienced naturalist who knows where the tigers have been seen recently.

Ranthambore is a wild forest, not a zoo. More safaris in different zones give you a much better chance. Core zones 1–5 are closed from 1 July to 30 September every year (monsoon), and each zone has one weekly closing day.

Day 1 Arrive in Ranthambore & afternoon safari Overnight: Ranthambore Included
Arrival: our driver meets you at Sawai Madhopur railway station (or brings you from Jaipur / Delhi on request) and drops you at your hotel near the park.
Lunch and a short rest, then your first afternoon jeep safari in the zone allotted by the Forest Department.
Overnight stay at your hotel near Ranthambore National Park.

Day 2 Morning and afternoon safaris Departure in the evening Included
Morning safari: your open gypsy picks you up from the hotel around sunrise. With your naturalist, you track tigers, leopards and sloth bears by alarm calls and pugmarks in the allotted zone (about 3.5 hours).
Back to the hotel for breakfast, rest and lunch.
Afternoon safari: after lunch and a rest, the second safari of the day heads into a different zone (about 3.5 hours), returning around sunset.
Departure: after the safari, our driver drops you at Sawai Madhopur station or continues to Jaipur / Delhi on request.

Good to know & policies
- Original passport needed
Safari permits are issued in your name with your passport number — carry the same original passport to the park gate.
- Early starts
Morning safaris start around sunrise (6:00–7:00 AM). Your gypsy or canter picks you up from the hotel about 15–30 minutes before.
- What to wear
Neutral colours (khaki, olive, beige). Winter mornings are cold in an open jeep — bring a warm jacket, cap and gloves from November to February.
- Camera & binoculars
A zoom lens (200 mm+) and binoculars make a big difference. Still cameras are included in the permit fee.
- Park rules
Stay inside the vehicle, keep quiet, no feeding animals, no plastic, no smoking. Drivers must stay on the allotted route.
- Children
Children are welcome on safaris — tell us their ages, as permits are needed for all passengers.

Terms & conditions
- Safari permits are booked on the official Rajasthan Forest Department portal in each guest's name and are non-transferable. We need passport details to book.
- Zones and vehicles are allotted by the Forest Department. We request different zones for each safari, but the final zone depends on availability.
- Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. Safari fees are set by the Forest Department and can change; your quote shows the current fee.
- Core zones 1–5 are closed 1 July – 30 September; buffer zones may run in the monsoon depending on weather.
- Prices are per person and depend on the number of travellers, hotel category, vehicle (gypsy or canter) and package. Your final quote is confirmed in writing before you pay.
Frequently asked questions
How many safaris are included in the 2-day Ranthambore package?
Three jeep safaris: one on the afternoon of Day 1 and a morning and an afternoon safari on Day 2, each requested in a different zone.
How do I reach Ranthambore for this package?
Sawai Madhopur, the town next to the park, is on the main Delhi–Mumbai railway line, about 5 hours by train from Delhi and 2–3 hours from Jaipur. We pick you up at the station, or send a private car from Jaipur or Delhi at extra cost.
Is 2 days enough to see a tiger?
It gives you three chances, which is a good start. If seeing a tiger is the main goal of your trip, our 3-day package with four safaris gives you a better chance.
Is this a private tour?
Yes. Every tour is private — only you and your group, with your own car, driver and guide. Timings can be adjusted to your pace.
Will I definitely see a tiger?
No one can honestly guarantee it — Ranthambore is a wild forest, not a zoo. Your chances improve a lot with 3–4 safaris in different zones, mostly in the mornings, and in the drier months (March–June) when tigers come to the lakes. That is why our packages include several safaris.
Gypsy or canter — which is better?
A gypsy (open jeep, 6 guests) is quieter, moves faster and gives better photo angles, so we recommend it. A canter (open bus, about 20 guests) is cheaper and easier to get at short notice.
Can I choose the safari zone?
You can request zones, but the Forest Department allots zones and vehicles. We apply early and request different core zones for each safari to maximise your chances.
What documents do I need for a Ranthambore safari?
Foreign guests need their passport number and nationality when we book, and must carry the same original passport to the park gate. Indian guests need a government photo ID such as Aadhaar.
Which languages do your tour guides speak?
All our guides are approved, professional tour guides. English is standard, and Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Portuguese and Chinese speaking guides are available on request.

Excellent tour with lots of memories to take home. Great organisation and guide
Based on my experience Rosa Travel is a serious and honest tour provider with excellent customer service. They responded fast and very honest about all my enquiries and extra wishes before the trip and incorporated all. The car was very clean and in very good condition and the driver also very punctual, reliable and trustworthy. Mr Mohsin, my tour guide was excellent, with local knowledge that only someone who has been doing this tour for almost every day in the past 10 years can have. Needless to say that I did not even see a queue. He also had a great knowledge of the whole Indian history and its transformation into modern society…

Warm, insightful and friendly guide! Highly recommend!
Our guide Zameer was incredible! He shared so many interesting facts about the history, architecture, and city of Agra and the surrounding area. Insightful, efficient, and professional
This was one of if not the best tours I've been on in over 30 years of my life. Our guide Zameer was extremely knowledgeable and it was clear he had a passion for history. He shared stories, insight, and was able to answer almost all the questions the group had. If he didn't know, he didn't make things up like most tour guides. This was a 10/10 experience. Great Trip! I went 4D3N trip with my family in December 2022 to Mathura-Vrindavan-Agra-Fatehpur Sikiri-Delhi. The trip was excellently planned by Faisal Siddiqui and not at all tiring. The driver Mr Khemchand Sharma ji was outstanding he was on-time in the entire trip, professional, safe and caring. Every place we had guided tours and everyone is professional, friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the places. The trip to Taj Mahal was one of the great unique experiences that we had. Only one you want to show you Agra
Review of our guide Zamir. It felt like became our friend in such a short period of time. He was extremely knowledgeable, honest, kind with his time, took us everywhere we wanted to go. Other guides have been pushy, and can sometimes try to hustle tourists, Zamir rather shared our experience with us, and helped Shepard us through Agra and gave us the best areas for pictures, foods, and momentos for the trip. If I come back or have relatives going to the area, they are getting the high recommendation to ask for Zamir.

Fantastic tour of the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort!! Our car ride was super cozy, with extra cushions for comfort, and our guide Nazeer was super knowledgeable and kind! He even helped us cut all the lines and shared fun side stories and had answers to alll out touristy questions :)

An activity-filled day
We certainly got more than we expected with this tour! The day started when we got picked up from outside our accommodation in South Delhi by our driver in a comfortable SUV at 6am and we got on the road to Agra. The SUV was stocked with bottled water and snacks. Because of the fog we couldn't see a lot but there wasn't much traffic either…

Epic tour to Taj Mahal
Very comfortable vehicle and safe driving. Drivers English wasn't always able to be understood although this didn't alter the overall experience. Stopped for breakfast at place where food was nice but place a little average. Tour guide who showed us around Taj Mahal and Agra Fort was awesome - great English, got us through queues quickly and took great photos. Didn't like going to marble shop and declined another selling opportunity. Yummy lunch at restaurant on way home.
